As an Agile Scrum Master, the role is critical in facilitating and optimising our adoption of agile ways of working, ensuring the successful implementation of agile principles and practices across our project team. The position will work closely with cross-functional project teams, guiding them in embracing agile methodologies and leveraging tools such as Jira to drive collaboration and continuous improvement.

The Agile Scrum Master will be required to perform and/or have responsibility for duties including, but not limited to:
 Organise and facilitate agile ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure that these events are effective, timeboxed, and promote transparency, collaboration, and open communication among team members. Utilise Jira as the primary tool for managing and tracking agile ceremonies.

 Guide and mentor teams, their leaders, and other stakeholders on agile principles, values, and practices. Foster a culture of self-organisation, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Help teams leverage Jira’s capabilities to streamline their agile workflows and maximise productivity.

 Continuously monitor and optimise agile processes, removing any barriers which hinder team productivity or delivery. Collaborate with teams to define and improve agile workflows, ensuring they align with industry best practices. Leverage Jira’s features to configure agile boards, manage backlogs, and visualise work progress.

 Leverage Jira’s collaborative features to enhance team collaboration and knowledge sharing.

 Collaborate closely with team leads and stakeholders to ensure clear requirements, prioritise work, and manage expectations. Utilise Jira’s reporting and communication capabilities to provide visibility into the team’s progress and engage stakeholders throughout the development process.

 Champion a culture of continuous improvement and learning. Identify areas for process enhancement and drive initiatives to increase team productivity, quality, and efficiency. Leverage Jira’s reporting and analysis capabilities to gain insights and track performance metrics.

Required Skills and Experience:

 Certified Scrum Master certification or equivalent agile certifications.

 Proven experience as an Agile Scrum Master or agile coach, fostering agile transformation within organisations.

 Deep understanding of agile principles, values, and practices, with experience in implementing agile methodologies such as Scrum or Kanban.

 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and motivate team members and stakeholders.

 Experience working with agile project management tools like Jira, including configuring agile boards, managing backlogs, and generating reports.

Desirable Skills and Experience

 Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

 Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing priorities, manage ambiguity, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

 Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle, DevSecOps, test and evaluation in development operations, ICT governance frameworks and maintenance and operations environments (ITIL, SIAM).
