The Foundation Skills for Your Future program (the Program)
provides $50 million over five years from 1 July 2019 to 30 June
2024, to provide employed or recently unemployed Australians
with a means to develop language, literacy, numeracy, and digital
literacy (LLND) skills. The Program enables eligible participants to
access LLND skills assessment and training through projects linking
employers and Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) to deliver
LLND training to employees either in a traditional vocational
education and training or workplace setting. The Department of
Education, Skills and Employment has established a panel of 29
Service Providers to deliver the Program.
We are seeking an Assistant Director to support the Foundation
Skills for Your Future Program team within the Foundation and
Transition Programs Branch. As the Assistant Director, you will
work independently and under limited direction.
Key responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
• Undertake and manage an open tender procurement
process seeking additional Service Providers for the
Foundation Skills for Your Future Program
• Administer work improvement initiatives and make
recommendations for improved work systems and
practices with respect to management of the Program
• Review Program guidelines and evaluation
• Undertake other tasks as required
 
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following
capabilities/experience and/or qualifications:
Essential
• Demonstrated experience in the development and
delivery of procurement and contracting services and
support functions
• Well-developed planning and project management skills,
with sound analytical and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated leadership ability and skills in contributing
to the management of programs
• Strategic, analytical, problem solving, corporate
management and planning skills
• Strong communication and representational skills
