The Voice and Video Collaboration SME is responsible for planning, designing and implementing the integration process, including creation of design and supporting documentation. This is primarily an ‘on the tools’ application packaging position within the Warfighting Applications Product Line (WAPL). The IS will conduct audio and video integration activities, including design in support of interoperability frameworks, user stories, capability needs and standards analysis. Additionally, discovery, prototyping, implementation, packaging, support to design assurance and regression test activities, whilst working collaboratively with team peers and cross functionally to the broader setting. This role provides a significant contribution to enhancing overall capacity in responding to meet the ICT needs of the department.

 

Essential skills and experiences

 

Thorough understanding of audio and video requirements, configurations, administration and management within complex ICT systems including the integration of audio and video codecs and secure communication standards, such as SRTP, TLS and SSH;

 

Experience in implementing audio and video Session Border Control, hosted Video Based Collaboration, and audio and video protocols/interoperability standards such as H.323, SIP, RTP, SRTP, video and audio compression standards, and their integration within secure environments;

Proven ability to design, integrate and manage audio and video technology services, including network bandwidth allocation, QoS configurations and reliability solutions incorporating service profile derived exchanges;

Knowledge of planning and allocating audio and video related licensing whilst ensuring compliancy with required policies and frameworks (DERMP&F inclusive);

Strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with demonstrable experience of presentation and engagement with stakeholders, projects, organisational reporting and business areas.

 

Desirable skills and experiences

 

Strong consideration will be given to candidates with a minimum of 8 years’ of relevant experience with Joint / Coalition defence environments, with 3+ years of audio and video collaboration using Cisco products post certification date;

Knowledge and understanding of software integration, scalability and deployment considerations within secure environments;

 

Knowledge of infrastructure, deep understanding of networking (both unicast as well as multicast), PKI, as well as system integration design, design assurance and definition rigor;

 

Knowledge of DevSecOps &/or CI/CD pipelines, containerization, virtualisation, SAFe Agile Delivery, ITILv4 and FMN/Interoperability Frameworks, inclusive of the FMN concept of COI and Data Centricity Strategy;

Advanced practitioner skills for both GUI and CLI based environments, operating systems, ancillaries and appliances;

Knowledge and understanding of the OSI model, technology, layer 3/4, as well as 7 security considerations;

Knowledge of, as well as ability to accurately document both configuration changes and compatibility issues relating to policies, firewalls, application/device whitelisting; inclusive of any relevant system, ancillary and network dependencies;

 

Advanced practitioner skills in scripting, configuration and installation methods, practitioner skills in automation and deployment;

Knowledge and understanding of the Defence Security Principles Framework, Public Key Infrastructure, and Cyber Worthiness Principles;

 

Knowledge of the various ADO’s, as well as OGA’s that contribute or rely on Joint and Defence ICT system exchanges
